Post Date: 20/09/2016

A great weekend at Party in the Ark was had by all! The sun shone and the bands were on form, what more could we ask for? The biggest thank you ever must go to Jo and Ray of Abi's Hotel for Cats - boarding cattery organizing this event with proceeds to Lincs Ark. The planning into getting this event off the ground is hard work and time consuming, so we cannot thank you both enough. Jo and Ray raised the most incredible amount of £1600.50 !!!!! That is more than we could ever have dreamed of. Thank you so much.

There are many more thank you’s too..…… a huge thank you to all the bands who gave their time free of charge, they are from Saturday – Cuttin Loose, Revolver, Robert Hokum (Bob did you actually eat the whole cake by the way?), Geoff Garbow band, Alter Egos and the Amazing Armadillos. From Sunday - Beachy Head Diving Club, Left hand Drive, Northsyde and last but not least the incredible Cross Fire who stepped in at the last minute. Thank you to you all and it was great to meet many of you.

Thank you to all that gave donations from the stalls – Snak Shak (fantastic homemade pink lemonade); Heckington 8 Sail Brewery; John Tooley Amusements; Kay Hardstaff face painting from Saturday; Eve Marie Ford face painting from Sunday; Kirsten Watkiss of Little Wing, henna body art, Hayley Payne, Iceni holistic therapist, Skinner’s ice cream and First Aider Becci Horn Fortune who covered the entire weekend – thank you so much.

Thank you to all the visitors who supported Lincs Ark and gave very, very generously, you all looked to be having a great time.

Last but not least a big thank you to our wonderful volunteers who yet again work tirelessly behind the scenes and those who helped over the weekend along with their partners and husbands and not forgetting all the little helpers, you worked your socks off – thank you.

HUGE thanks to Anita & Rosie at the Carrington Charity Auction!!!!

Post Date: 10/05/2016

We are delighted to announce a wonderful donation of £252!!

Anita and Rosie from the Wednesday Night Carrington Charity Auction raised this amazing amount when they both decided to shed a few pounds and raise money for Lincs Ark at the same time. So, last Wednesday evening, just before the auction, they presented us with a cheque for £252, which we were obviously thrilled to accept.

Many of the sponsors were people who attend the auction so we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Anita & Rosie and all their sponsors. Well done and thank you!!!

*** It’s a super evening at Carrington Village Hall every Wednesday. They start the auction with a game of bingo at 6.00 p.m. which is great fun, and then start auctioning the lots. Viewing is from 12.00 noon on the day, and you can leave a bid on an item should you not be able to attend in the evening. They charge 10% commission from both the buyers and the sellers which is then donated to a nominated charity. There are many bargains to be had, from a teapot to a lawnmower or a set of cutlery to a tumble dryer. Get there early to get a seat! ***

Our Halloween tombola at Rookes Pet Products Ltd made an amazing £144! We met a lot of friendly dogs and their owners who came to shop at the store and also met the delightful Walter, who is the face of July in the Rookes calendar. Rookes has kindly chosen Lincs Ark to be the beneficiary from the sales of the Rookes calendar, with £1 coming to us from each calendar sold! They will make a great stocking filler!

Lincs Ark will be at Rookes again on Saturday 5th December with a Christmas tombola, we do hope you will be able to come along and have a go as funds raised will help feed our foster animals over Christmas.

If you are not able to make it to the store on 5th December but would like to help our animals, we do have a collection bin in the foyer and would be delighted to receive cat food, cat litter and hay/pellets for our rabbits. THANK YOU from our furry rescues. x

Dear supporters, we are very excited to launch our 2014 Kittens' Christmas Shoe Box Appeal. We are inundated with kittens that have either been dumped without their mums or have been born under a bush and their stray mothers have been trying to provide shelter for their babies, or simply not wanted by their owners. We desperately need all things kitten to help us care for them:

kitten wet food pouches either Felix or Whiskas

kitten milk especially Top Life goats milk for kittens (from Asda)

kitten toys

It doesn't have to be a shoe box, it can be any box of any size. It might be that some of you would like to fill a box as a group, or get a school or class involved. Our kittens will just be grateful for anything. Throughout the appeal we will post photos of our kittens with their gifts so you can see what a difference you have made.

The drop off points are listed below or please get in touch by email or FB message us. Thank you everyone, from the bottom of their tiny beating hearts.

The children of Ayscoughfee Hall School in Spalding raised a total of £190.00 for Lincs Ark

Post Date: 08/12/2014

The children of Ayscoughfee Hall School in Spalding raised a total of £190.00 for Lincs Ark at their end of year concert in June.  The choir sang, the band played and there were soloists on drums, violins, clarinet, guitar and piano.  They played to a packed house and a good time was had by all.  Thank you to everyone who took part and to all those kind people who made a donation.

One of our volunteers was browsing the tables at the Boston Country Park boot fair on Monday, 26th August, hoping to find some cuddly toys at reasonable prices that we could offer as tombola & raffle prizes at subsequent events.  After some success at buying half a dozen, a lady approached her and asked whether the cuddly toys she was after were needed for a charity.  Having said that they were for Lincs Ark, to help raise money for animals, she immediately said she would happily donate all the cuddly toys she had in her car with pleasure.  This turned out to be around 70 cuddly toys!
We are so grateful to Sarah and her daughter Lissy for what must be one of our biggest donations yet!
“Thank you, Sarah and Lissy!”

Lincs Ark were out in force at Morrisons,

Post Date: 08/12/2014

Lincs Ark were out in force at Morrisons, Pinchbeck on Friday 12th July.  Raising almost £384 with a tombola there were many delighted customers and the name of Lincs Ark and what we do is well and truly out there.  The photo shows a Morrisons customer selecting a winning ticket.
Following on from this event we will be attending other supermarkets.  These include bag packing at Morrisons in Skegness on 14th September and Collection Days with tombolas at Tesco in Boston on 20th September, Sainsburys in Spilsby on 28th September and Asda in Boston on 5th October.  Hopefully we will see you there.

Thank you to everyone who put their green tokens in the Lincs Ark box at Asda in Boston

Post Date: 08/12/2014

Thank you to everyone who put their green tokens in the Lincs Ark box at Asda in Boston. Unfortunately we didn't win the first place but we did come a very, very close 2nd and on 9th July some of the Lincs Ark volunteers went along to collect the cheque for £50. That's a cat spay and microchip taken care of! Once again, thank you all for your support, keep up the good work.

Lincs Ark were delighted when Pilgrim Veterinary Surgery in Boston offered us a free Spay Day on Sunday 14th July 2013

Post Date: 08/12/2014

Lincs Ark were delighted when Pilgrim Veterinary Surgery in Boston offered us a free Spay Day on Sunday 14th July 2013.  In all, 34 cats and kittens were neutered and microchipped.  Two vets and three nurses gave up their very valuable time and the day ran without a hitch.
Not only did this save Lincs Ark a considerable amount of money but so many unwanted pregnancies have now been prevented.  We are at crisis point in Boston because of the many unneutered cats being abandoned. One female can be responsible for 21,000 offspring in seven years!   There are over ten million cats in this country and a large proportion of these are strays or living in rescue shelters.   We cannot stress enough how important neutering is and urge all owners of unneutered cats to see their vets as soon as possible.  Kittens of both sexes can start producing from 4 months and femals can have 3 litters a year.
We cannot thank Pilgrim Vets enough, and special thanks go to Alistair, Fiona, Priyam, Ellie, Gemma, and Donna for all their hard work to make the day a success.

Post Date: 08/12/2014

A huge thank you to Pets at Home for the donation from their ‘Damaged stock scheme’. This has been such a fantastic help to us and we cannot thank you enough.
It took a few car loads but well worth it. The photo shows the stock being distributed amongst our committee members to be passed on to all our foster carers.
An extra special thank you to all the guys at the Distribution Centre who were very kind in packing the pallet. Andy the Boston Store Manager told us they work very hard packing these pallets of damaged stock and we would like them to know how much we appreciate this.

We would like to say a Big Thank You to Christine Dobbin

Post Date: 08/12/2014

We would like to say a Big Thank You to Christine Dobbin, of ‘Cats by Christine’ for very kindly painting this really lovely portrait of “Twinkle”, one of our foster cats. This artwork was donated by Christine and will be used for our Lincs Ark Christmas cards to help raise funds.
After studying art at university for four years and then working as a veterinary nurse for six years, Christine developed a love for watercolour painting and animals. She is now taking time to combine her two loves by painting pet portraits.
If you might like to commission a portrait of your cat as a lasting memory, or would like to see more of Christine’s work, please get in touch with Christine via her website at
